Occupational Health Registered Nurse

Haztech has a GREATopportunity for a Registered Nurse at a mine in the Regina / MooseJaw area.

This position begins June 1st 2024and is a term position for 1 year. The schedule is Tuesday Fridayfrom 645 am 445pm

Job Summary :

The OccupationalHealth Nurse will be part of the Health and Safety Team required topromote safe healthy working conditions by identifying hazards andrisks in the workplace and developing strategies to mitigate them.

Responsibilities :

• Health Promotion andEducation :
• Develop and implement healthpromotion programs to foster a culture of wellness and safety inthe workplace.
• Occupational HealthSurveillance :
• Maintain a busy HealthSurveillance and Periodic Medical Program which includes AudiometrySpirometry Respirator Fit Testing Emergency Response Team MemberMedicals Rail Operator Medicals Vision Screening and CustomFitHearing Protection.
• Maintain accurate health recordsand databases to track employee health trends and identifyopportunities for improvement
• CaseManagement :
• Provide initial assessment andfirst aid treatment for workplace injuries andillnesses.
• Coordinate medical care andrehabilitation services for injured / ill employees includingreferrals and followupappointments.
• Monitor employee progress andfacilitate returntowork programs to ensure a safe and timely returnto job duties.
• Liaise with internal and externalstakeholders to coordinate accommodation efforts support forrecovery and injury / illnessprevention
• Compliance andDocumentation
• Remain current with occupationalhealth and safety regulations and ensure compliance withguidelines
• Maintain accurate andconfidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulationsand other privacy laws.
• EmployeeAssistance and Counseling :
• Offer confidential counseling andsupport services to employees dealing with stress mental healthissues or personal problems.
• Serve as a resource for employeesseeking information or assistance with health relatedconcerns

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse ingood standing with the CRNS(Saskatchewan)
• 5 years OHN experiencerequired
• Occupational Health NursingCertification preferred
• OHN designationpreferred
• Audiometric techniciancertification
• Pulmonary function (spirometry)testing certification
• Disability managementcertification an asset
• Excellent interpersonal andcommunication skills with the ability to interact effectively withemployees at all levels of theorganization.
• Demonstrated ability to workindependently prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilitieseffectively.
• Proficiency in computerapplications including electronic health record systems andMicrosoft Office suite
