About UCeed UCeed is one of Canada’s leading first-check investors in game changing companies.
We invest in bold innovations across deep tech, health tech, and social impact, backing founders at the earliest stages to help turn breakthrough ideas into venture-scale businesses.
The Founder Matching Program Alberta’s post-secondary institutions generate world-class research, but much of it never reaches the market without entrepreneurial Builders.
This 6-month program matches entrepreneurial individuals and seasoned operators with research teams to build trust, validate the opportunity, and reach key milestones.
If successful, Builders may formalize a co-founder relationship at the conclusion of the program and receive consideration for lead investment from UCeed Investment Funds as the venture progresses.
Your Opportunity As a Builder, you’ll enter a 6-month trial co-founder working period, earning a $5,000/month CAD stipend.
If the match is successful, you’ll have the opportunity to lead a research backed start-up with game changing foundational technology.
Key responsibilities will be unique to each venture.
They could include : Shaping the business model and go-to-market strategy Driving early growth through customer acquisition, sales, and go-to-market execution Designing internal systems and workflows Overseeing operations, vendors, and logistics Supporting budgeting, grant applications, and financial planning Helping define team culture, hiring, and org structure Who Should Apply We’re seeking Builders, entrepreneurial professionals who: Have founded or helped scale early-stage startups (0→1 experience is preferred) Understand commercialization of research/IP Are ready to commit to the founder lifestyle: uncertain, intense, and deeply rewarding Thrive in ambiguity and can operate without a playbook Are motivated to build a high-impact company from the ground up This is not for Consultants, Advisors or Mentors.
