Are you our next Occ Health Nurse RN?
The Occ Health Nurse RN position will primarily provide occupational health services to Operations, including Dynatec / Procon as possible.
Services include hearing and lung function testing, managing interactions with WCB, providing first aid training, etc. The position will also liaise closely with the Security contractor and assist with workplace injuries as available.
What will you do?
Administer first aid to injured workers. Respond to plant site incidents with the emergency vehicle and / or trauma gear.
Accompany serious cases to hospital. Ensure adequate First Aid and health supplies are maintained at the Security Area through Maximo.
Keep all site A600 bags in good condition and manage the program to ensure bags are current and properly stocked, including organizing O2 cylinders to be hydro tested.
- Develop, implement and sustain a Health and Wellness program for the facility.
- Co-ordinate with Emergency Response Specialist to organize, schedule and deliver CPR, First Aid, First Responder and EMT training, and assist with specialized emergency response training for Mine Rescue and Surface Fire teams.
- Clerical - enter incident reports into the corporate AON Risk Management system, producing required reports for SMA, MSU, PBU from Kronos data.
Track and file site safety meeting minutes. Manage the process for employees to acquire prescription safety glasses, including invoicing and reimbursement programs.
Schedule and deliver Hearing & Lung Function testing and do Respiratory Fit testing to employees as per Regulations. Liase with local physicians as "medical practitioner" as defined by CSA standards for audiology and fit testing.
What do you need for this role?
- Associate's Degree required, major in Occupational Therapy. Bachelors Degree preferred.
