Role Description
Marinus Services ULC. is seeking a Senior Cloud & Enterprise Technology Business Relationship Director, to lead the strategy, modernization, and operational excellence of our hybrid technology ecosystem- spanning on-prem infrastructure, Azure cloud, enterprise systems, and security.
In this senior leadership position, you will drive cloud-first transformation, architecture governance, DevOps maturity, and automation initiatives. You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define technology roadmaps, modernize legacy environments, and ensure our platforms are secure, resilient, and aligned with business needs.
This role leads horizontally across teams without formal authority, relying on influence, relationship-building, and strategic alignment to guide Cloud Engineering, Security, Operations, and Business units. You will standardize processes, strengthen governance, and shape future-state enterprise architecture to support Marinus’s long-term growth and digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategy, governance, and execution across hybrid environments : on-prem data centers, servers, networks, Azure cloud, and SaaS platforms.
- Define and enforce enterprise architecture standards across networking, compute, identity, security, storage, and integration.
- Oversee Azure and on-prem operations (AD / Entra ID, VPN, RBAC, firewalls, monitoring, backup, disaster recovery).
- Modernize legacy systems and transition the organization toward cloud-first and automated operating models.
- Partner with business and technical leaders to identify needs, shape roadmaps, and design future-state architectures.
- Influence cross-functional teams to adopt modernization, automation, and standardization of best practices.
- Introduce new technical capabilities and optimize existing platforms.
Service Delivery, Governance & Execution
Lead the full lifecycle of technology initiatives from requirements through deployment and support.Reinforce ITIL-aligned processes for change, incident, and problem management.Maintain clear communication with leadership regarding project status, risks, and dependencies.DevOps, Automation & Engineering Leadership
Advance DevOps maturity using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform, Bicep, and scripting automation.Promote Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for consistent provisioning across cloud and on-prem systems.Mentor engineers, sysadmins, and DevOps specialists; support cross-training and capability development.Security, Compliance & Risk Management
Implement Zero Trust, MFA, encryption, segmentation, and identity governance.Ensure adherence to SOC 2, ISO 27001, and internal governance standards.Analyze trends and create long-term risk mitigation strategies.Data, Applications & Integration Enablement
Support integrations between on-prem systems and cloud platforms.Partner with business stakeholders to improve data visibility, analytics readiness, and automation.Strengthen data quality and governance across systems.Leadership & Influence
Lead cross-functional teams using influence, relationship‑building, and negotiation rather than formal authority.Build strong partnerships across IT, operations, security, vendors, and client organizations.Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences.Qualifications
10–15+ years of IT experience across both cloud and on‑prem environments.5+ years of Azure cloud leadership, hybrid infrastructure operations, or enterprise architecture roles.Strong expertise in automation, DevOps, enterprise infrastructure, and security.Proven ability to influence teams and deliver results without direct authority.Skilled in enterprise architecture, modernization strategy, and IT governance.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and advisory skills.Preferred Skills
Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, or related automation tools.Strong understanding of hybrid cloud integrations, identity architecture, and modern security frameworks.Familiarity with SOC 2, ISO 27001, ITIL processes, and enterprise governance practices.Background supporting data governance, analytics readiness, and cross‑platform integrations.Role based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.Collaboration with distributed IT teams, business units, and global stakeholders.Fast‑paced, transformation‑focused environment with shifting priorities and cross‑functional collaboration.Physical Demands
