The Production Scheduler shall be responsible for on-time delivery of manufactured goods by planning manufacturing activities and resources for two manufacturing plants to meet the demand schedule.

The Production Scheduler will liaison with several departments including materials, engineering, operations, quality, and production to ensure goods are manufactured in a timely process according to plan.

Position will be integral in leading and advancing production reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities :

Assist Production Management with shift configurations, labor allocation and staffing levels to meet requirements of the facility

Collaborate on execution of production schedule and resolve any obstacles to on time delivery

Report on worker efficiency and production rates and provide insight from measurements on areas for improvement

Maintain and produce weekly and daily production plans off the monthly forecast released from operations

Evaluate capacity and ensure it is aligned with the forecast. Identify constraints and make recommendations for improvement.

Focus on bottlenecking manufacturing areas and propose solutions based on analysis of capacity outlook

Coordinate outsourcing activities as a solution to capacity constraints

Enhance scheduling visual management on the two manufacturing floors

Assist in building and responsible for maintaining production key performance indicators and reporting

Co-ordinate daily production activities between Production Supervisors. This includes scheduling build dates, communicating build delays, generation of production reports and keeping the production schedule up to date.

Provide wrap dates and communicate any changes to the shipping schedule

Monitor progress of builds & communicate issues in order to ensure that ship dates are met

Create the production schedule ensuring the plans reflect priority work. Full ownership over the internal scheduling software and accountability of the information being updated and accurate

Reconcile schedule attainment for daily, weekly, and monthly plans

Perform data entry as required to record statistical information

Coordinate material availability with the purchasing department and schedule jobs accordingly

Communicate schedule requirements to the shop floor and accommodate said requirements in a production plan that also meets corporate objectives

Identify overtime requirements and coordinate with the Production Supervisors

Update scheduling system to maintain up-to-date status information

Monitor, audit, and maintain performance to target along with the scheduling system at all times

Other duties as required

Qualifications :

University degree or diploma in Operations Management or Commerce is an asset

Strong analytical background and organization skills

Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills

High attention to detail

Ability to utilize a variety of software tools (databases, spreadsheets, flowcharts etc.) to perform forecasting, modeling, analysis, simulations & flow chart functions would be an asset

Demonstrated, written and oral communications skills

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization

Strong customer service orientation
