Killam Apartment REIT, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is one of Canada's largest residential real estate investment trusts, owning, operating, and developing a $5.3 billion portfolio of apartments and manufactured home communities. We are currently searching for a Maintenance Technician to join our team in Calgary, AB. This is an exciting and challenging position in a growth-oriented organization. If you are a team player with proven ability to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment this may be the opportunity for you.
What you will do:
•Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, molding and hardware
•Maintain, repair and renovate residences
•General maintenance and painting
•Knowledge of plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, etc.
•Refinishing of floors including handling of sanding equipment
•On-call rotation required approximately every 8-9 weeks
•Snow removal during winter months
•All other duties as required
What you will bring:
•3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
•Ability to work as part of a team, and also under minimal supervision
•Effective, proven skills and experience
•Renovations experience is considered an asset
•Plumbing, electrical, or HVAC experience is considered an asset
•Must have a valid Alberta driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
