Salary : At Wawanesa, salary is only one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees.

The salary offered is estimated to be within the following range : $80,000- $140,000. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are still encouraged to apply.

Job Overview
The Farm Pricing team plays a key role in supporting the achievement of all farm insurance financial goals at Wawanesa nationally.
With a strong grasp of ratemaking concepts, the Senior Actuarial Analyst or Actuarial Consultant is responsible for developing farm insurance rating plans, enhancing segmentation, uncovering business insights, and collaborating with our business partners to deliver strategic priorities.
We are open to hiring at either the Senior Actuarial Analyst or Actuarial Consultant level.
Job Responsibilities
Perform pricing indication and segmentation analysis on personal and commercial farm business to evaluate rate adequacy and risk quality.
Devise and integrate underwriting and regional business recommendations.
- Be creative in designing rate review approaches to enhance pricing sophistication.
- Be able to gather and leverage internal and external data to increase pricing segmentation.
- Monitor portfolio performance and underwriting strategies effectiveness; proactively share findings and recommend solutions.
- Effectively communicate pricing analysis and recommendations to diverse audiences including but not limited to leadership team, underwriters and brokers.
- Coach junior analysts on technical skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other related field
- 4 or more CAS exams; ACAS designation an asset
- Three or more years of P&C actuarial experience preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to proactively identify issues and initiate actions
- Proficient with Excel, SQL, R, Python and / or other related software / programming languages / actuarial software
- Experience with WTW Radar and Emblem an asset
- Strong attention to detail when performing analysis with minimal technical errors
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Be positive and adaptive to change
