Payables Clerk

Salary: $55,000 per year

The Haebler Group, well established, mid-size, award-winning construction company located in Vancouver, has an exciting opportunity for Accounts Payable Clerk. Ideal candidate has over 1-3 years of work experience in commercial and residential construction. This full-time role allows for the opportunity to grow and develop within the company while being involved in interesting and rewarding construction projects.

The Position:

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to undertake various duties within our Accounts Payable department. You will be responsible for various components of the accounts payable cycle as well as other ad-hoc administrative tasks assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Receive and verify invoices against purchase orders for goods and services;
• Ensure invoices have appropriate approval before processing into the accounting system;
• Enter vendor invoices and employee expenses in an accurate and efficient manner;
• Assist bi-weekly cheque employee runs and employee expense reimbursement;
• Handle vendor inquiries in a professional manner;
• Provide an excellent level of customer service to both internal and external customers;
• Provide support to both the Accounting and Administration teams as required;
• Take on additional projects and day-to-day responsibilities as required;
• File, photocopy and scan documents, data entry;
• Ensure sub-trades have returned their subcontract, their WorkSafeBC is current, CGL Insurance Coverage is up to date, and that all sub-trades provide up-to-date statutory declarations before releasing payment.

Skills & Requirements:

• At least 1-3 years of experience in an accounting role within a high-volume environment;
• Experience and understanding of computerized accounting systems;
• Ability to work individually and as a part of a team;
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills;
• Excellent MS Office skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook);
• A positive attitude, good communicator, attention to detail, team player and exceptional interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work quickly and accurately
• Experience with Procore is an asset
• Experience with BCIB not required but would be an asset
