Our insurance client is looking for a Senior Full Stack Java Developer using SpringBoot to design, develop and maintain backend services for numerous applications
Two days per week in office - Calgary or Toronto
Must have :
- Experience as a Senior Full Stack Java developer designing, developing and maintaining backend services and API 's using Java17+ and SpringBoot3
- Experience with DevOps Practices and tools fo r continuous integration and deployment ( prefer Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong Cloud architecture experience (AWS and / or Azure)
- Strong experience designing and optimize database schemas, queries and data migration, backup and recovery strategies.
- Experience with at least two of the following : MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
Nice to have :
- AWS and / or Azure certification
- Swagger, Splunk, Helm, NeuVecor or similar tools
- Guidewire integration certification
What you will be doing :
Backend Development :
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java17+ SpringBoot3
- Implementing scalable and reliable server-side logic for handling user requests, data processing, and business logic.
- Optimizing performance and scalability of backend systems to ensure smooth operation under high load conditions.
- DevOps practices for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment (CI / CD)(e.g. Jenkins), including version control systems (e.
g. Git), containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes), vault etc.
Database Management :
- Work with databases s to store and retrieve data efficiently.
- Design and optimize database schemas and queries to support application requirements.
- Implement data migration, backup, and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
