We are happy to present the role of a Contracts Administrator with Architectural background located in Vancouver, BC.
Our client that provides a full range of architectural, planning and interior design services is looking for reinforcement in their team.
This firm is widely recognized for expertise in retail, residential, mixed-use, office and senior health-care projects. They are dedicated to high quality design, exceptional client service and the incorporation of sustainable design principles in their projects.
Responsibilities :
- Maintain and review all project documentation, ensuring the accuracy of shop drawings, schedules, samples, and alternate requests.
- Perform site reviews at project locations to ensure work complies with construction contracts and relevant building codes;
track progress and identify issues or deviations.
- Coordinate with contractors, approving authorities, or sub-consultants to document and address field issues.
- Create and manage project change documentation, responding to requests for clarification by providing supplemental drawings / specifications.
- Collaborate with the design team to resolve issues, assist with constructability reviews, and provide feedback.
- Coordinate the delivery of documents, drawings, and samples for necessary approvals to clients and consultants, attending meetings as required.
- Manage all close-out activities per project specifications, including deficiency reviews, substantial performance reviews, final occupancy inspections, permits, receipt of manuals / warranties, and letters of assurance.
Required Skills and Expertise :
- Graduate of a certified Building Technology or Architectural program from a professionally recognized institution.
- Over 5 years of relevant experience in the Canadian architectural industry (BC experience preferred).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in contract administration of construction projects in Canada.
- Multi-disciplinary experience, specifically in multi-family residential and commercial projects, with knowledge of wood frame, concrete, and non-combustible construction in both new designs and renovations.
- Demonstrated expertise in building technology, including wood frame and concrete construction.
- Demonstrate design sensibilities while being pragmatic and efficient in producing working drawings.
- In-depth knowledge of the BC Building Code Part 3 and ASHRAE 90.1 (understanding of NECB would be an asset).
- Advanced skills in AutoCAD, and working knowledge of Revit and SketchUp would be an asset.
- Use of a personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to project locations as required.
- Ability to effectively coordinate with all stakeholders, including engineers, clients, designers, and contractors.
- Ability to modify communication styles to meet the needs of the audience.
- Ability to meet challenges head-on, manage priorities, and meet tight deadlines while demonstrating flexibility and a high level of resourcefulness.
- Certification as a Construction Contract Administrator would be an asset.
