Your Opportunity :
This Medical Radiation Tech I (MRT / CLXT I) position performs quality general radiology and portable examinations on DR equipment in the busy and dynamic Diagnostic Imaging Department in the Crowsnest Pass.
Close collaboration with technical staff, nursing, patients, physicians, supervisor and management is required. Located in Blairmore the Health Centre is an acute care facility that services a large area of southwestern Alberta.
Crowsnest Pass is a beautiful area that offers many outdoor activities. The area offers hiking, fishing and mountain-biking in the summer, and in winter snowmobiling, a downhill ski hill (Pass PowderKeg), and a groomed cross-country ski area, and is about 70 kilometres (43 mi) from major ski hills at both Fernie Alpine Resort and Castle Mountain Resort.

Description :
As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis.
You will interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination and produce high quality diagnostic images for Physician / Radiologist review, and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment.
Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required.
Required Qualifications :
Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications :
MRT / CLXT technologist with strong radiation safety and technical skills in general radiology and portables required. Demonstrated positive attitude and good work ethic.
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position. Demonstrated proficient organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication and computer skills.
Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility, work effectively independently and within a team environment. Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations required.
Demonstrated interest in professional growth and continued education. Demonstrated perception, initiative, judgment and concern for detail and accuracy.
Demonstrated tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, students, AHS staff and physicians.
Preferred Qualifications :
Previous experience as an MRT / CLXT is preferred. Meditech and PACS proficiency an asset. Volunteering for AHS DI Provincial Committees, Superuser training or additional responsibilities in the department an asset.
AHS annual continuing education and ACMDTT education requirements up to date and applicable additional courses preferred.
Demonstrated participation in AHS Diagnostic Imaging Quality program / Peervue. Experience and aptitude in mentoring students an asset.
