Hays has partnered with an established Canadian design studio specializing in institutional, transit and residential & mixed used projects is looking for an Architectural Technologist to join their team in Calgary.
They are a highly collaborative firmprising of architects, students, interior designers, technical, and support staff, who take pride in their consultative approach work.

Your new role
In your role, you will Lead, develop, prepare, and review Design Development Drawings (DD) and Contract Documents and specifications, work on projects from design to construction alongside interior designers and architects.
Prepare detailed drawings, in accordance with industry standards and code requirements and deal directly with the production and coordination of documents in collaboration with your colleagues as well as external consultants to prepare high quality coordinated documents.
Research andpile construction materials,municate with clients throughout the design process to share updates and answer questions while understanding and adhering to project goals set out by the client.
Assist with resolving difficult operating tasks or drawing production problems and review details in documents for conformance with design as well as implement meeting objectives and provide project documentation.
Keep up to date on construction practices, products, codes and technology.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will have a 3 - 10 years of experience working on institutional, recreational, mixed family and transit project types (Schools, University, Academic, Healthcare, etc).
You will have a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Architecture or Technical program. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and other relevant software is a must and a solid understanding of current building systems, materials and Albert Building Code.
You will have high proficiency in developing architectural drawing packages and knowledgeable with detailing. Strong time management and organizational skills with an ability to work within a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
