Background :
Kyndryl Canada is looking to enhance our federal client’s data capabilities and are seeking a highly skilled Power BI & Fabric Data Modeler.
This role will focus on building scalable, enterprise-level Power BI semantic models and supporting our Power BI / Fabric environment.
Qualifications :
- Microsoft PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst) and DP-600 (Power BI Data Engineering) certifications or equivalent.
- Proven experience designing and deploying Power BI semantic models at an enterprise level, particularly using star schema and dimension / fact modeling.
- Strong working knowledge of Power BI, including creating reports, dashboards, and automated workflows.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (or similar platforms) for data integration and management.
- Experience with Power BI Administration and supporting enterprise-level deployments.
- Deep understanding of data modeling best practices, including performance optimization and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI semantic models following best practices, including star schema architecture and dimensional data modeling (facts / dimensions).
- Implement and optimize Power BI data models to meet enterprise-level requirements, ensuring they align with business objectives and deliver reliable, actionable insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and translate them into robust, high-performance models.
- Administer and configure Power BI / Fabric environments, including setting up workspaces, datasets, and reports.
- Provide ongoing administrative support for Power BI / Fabric, ensuring system stability, security, and efficiency.
- Leverage Azure services and Power BI best practices to streamline data workflows and integrations.
- Support data governance and security protocols to ensure data integrity and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with additional Azure services or tools such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, and Azure SQL.
- Familiarity with data warehousing and ETL processes.
