In this diverse and rewarding role, reporting to the Board of Directors, you are the front-line person for all the aspects of the organization and integral to the operational success and future of the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation.

In overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Foundation, you will bring your exceptional leadership, organizational skills and fund development experience to meet revenue growth goals.

Building on the success of the highly regarded retiring Executive Director, you will bring your creativity and drive as a key partner to the Board, Fraser Health, and the community in defining opportunities of impact to inspire and connect with donors.

You are polished, professional, and passionate about Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation and its goals and ambitions. You have a track record as a trusted leader with a solid understanding of fundraising.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Fundraising Leadership : Leads the planning, execution, and oversight of all fundraising and development activities for the Foundation, such as direct mail campaigns, individual and corporate donations, memorial gifts, special events, and major capital campaigns.
  • Strategic Development : Directs the creation of both short and long-term fundraising strategies, setting key performance indicators and goals through the development of an annual business plan, ensuring targets are monitored and met.

Collaborates with hospital administration to ensure the Foundation's goals align with donor requests and the hospital’s operational needs.

  • Capital Equipment Needs : Collaborates with hospital administration and staff to identify equipment needs, advising the Board on priorities for capital purchases based on this feedback.
  • Budget Oversight : Prepares and monitors operating and capital budgets, ensuring expenses align with financial targets and applying corrective measures as needed in conjunction with the Finance Committee.
  • Donor Relations : Cultivates strong relationships with major donors by creating and implementing donor recognition programs tailored to their preferences, ensuring continued support for the Foundation.
  • Policy and Procedure Management : Oversees the establishment and management of administrative, financial, and fundraising policies, including donor record management and tracking of contributions and media contacts.
  • Fund Management : Manages specific Foundation-held funds, collaborating with committees to select applicants, monitoring progress, and reporting outcomes to the Board.
  • Staff Management : Supervises Foundation staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation, and handles human resource matters, including discipline when necessary.
  • Legal Compliance : Ensures all Foundation activities comply with legal, statutory, and reporting requirements, maintaining its status as a registered public foundation and BC non-profit society.
  • Board Collaboration : Supports the Board’s Nominating Committee in recruiting and training new members, while managing solicitation programs for Board members, hospital leadership, and major donors.
  • Brand Development : Enhances the Foundation’s brand within the community to foster new fundraising opportunities, positioning it as a leading charity.

Engages with media to highlight the Foundation’s work and achievements.

Public Representation : Acts as a public spokesperson for the Foundation at various events, providing the Board with critical resources, reports, and insights.

QUALIFICATIONS :

A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related field, complemented by 7 10 years of senior leadership experience in fundraising and development for a large non-profit or charity, including work with a Board of Directors.

Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) would be an asset.
