Department : Product Operations Reports to : Senior Director, Product Operations Location : North Vancouver, BC Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX : As the Director of Product Operations, Merchandising, you provide operational leadership in the execution of the Merchandising strategy.
You enable the evolving structure of the Global and Regional Merchandising teams by establishing and driving efficient operations through calendars, process, and resource management, ensuring timelines and business objectives are met.
In partnership with the Product Operations leadership team, you provide guidance and cohesion to cross-functionally optimize a high performing cross functional Merchandising team.
This role is based out of our North Vancouver and Portland office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada or the US.

If you were the Director, Merchandising Operations, here are some of the core activities you would be doing :
Leading, mentoring and motivating the Merchandising Operations team to enable the execution of the merchandising vision;
providing expectations, goals and deliverables through owning the Merchandising deliverables throughout Go To Market (GTM) calendar as well as the ongoing business calendar
- Establishing, owning and driving the continuous improvement of Merchandising processes throughout GTM calendar, including the process management and adherence.
- Be responsible for improving, creating, and researching new tools & technology to enhance line planning & assortment planning & planning to space in both global / regional intersections.
- Ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities and expectations throughout the Merchandising team, while championing a culture of continuous challenge, improvement and growth
- Managing the organizational capacity for newness each season; setting guardrails and optimizing workload across each function to enable successful change.
- Building and maintaining change management processes that support the foundational structure of the Global and Regional Merchandising teams
- Partnering with team leads to ensure they have adequate resources to fulfill seasonal requirements.
- Identifying every opportunity to lead and mentor team members
- Soliciting feedback from cross-functional leadership to support the overall business in identifying areas of process improvement, business calendar and team structure requirements
- Monitoring and reporting on team performance metrics regularly to leadership
- Partnering with the Product Operations leaders to ensure their fingers are on the pulse of the culture; helping to champion any learning opportunities for the development and growth of the team
- Collaborating with People and Culture (P&C) and supporting the Merchandising Operations team on recruitment and training
- Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing, throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain

Are you our next Director, Merchandising Operations?
- You have 10+ years’ merchandising experience in a design, development, or production environment, within a global or regional team, with 3+ years’ experience in director-level, leadership role
- You have a a complete understanding of the product lifecycle process and have experience bringing a product line to life
- You are perceptive, emotionally intelligent and able to partner cross-functionally, able to demonstrate a strong track record of teambuilding.
- You have strong influential leadership, with the ability to drive alignment across diverse cross-functional stakeholders at all levels of the business
- You flourish in a fast-growth, entrepreneurial environment and thrive on contributing to our brand and team’s evolution through building relationships and creating partnerships
- You set a clear vision, align your team around common objectives, and foster commitment to these objectives
- You have a proven track record in developing and leading the execution of a multi-year business strategy

Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and / or training.
