The Timiskaming Health Unit is seeking a highly motivatedindividual with interest in public health and evidence-informed decisionmaking.
The individual will support various programs to :
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :
- Identify, assess, analyze and synthesize data and research evidence toguide programming decisions and inform population level public healthapproaches and operational planning;
- Apply advanced knowledge of public health and / or technical knowledgeregarding population health, social determinants of health, epidemiology andevidence-informed decision making;
- Identify, analyze, and provide recommendations on interventions, trends,risks, and opportunities;
- Support local data gathering and research;
- Support program monitoring and evaluation;
- Synthesize and communicate complex information to a wide range of audiences.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- AMaster’s degree in public health, health sciences, or related field essential;
- Relevantexperience in public health or community health;
- Demonstrated publichealth competencies with advanced population health assessment, planning, andevaluation skills;
- Strongresearch and analytical skills with qualitative and quantitative methods;
- Experience interpreting and synthesizing research and technicalinformation;
- Experience in program planning, evidence-informed decision-makingmethodology, project management, and project leadership;
- Strong verbal andwritten communication, facilitation, and knowledge exchange skills;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within diverse team settings;
- Excellentanalytical, problem solving, and organizational skills;
- Willingnessto work flexible hours to meet program requirements;
- Required to comply with the Health Unit’simmunization policies, which requires vaccination against COVID-19 unless validmedical exemption is provided;
- Transportation to meet programming needs,travel throughout the entire district will be required.
