The opportunity
The Manager is responsible for financial planning, reporting and analysis requirements for the General Account. With limited guidance, the incumbent is responsible for monthly / quarterly / annual management reporting, planning, analysis and forecasting for senior management.
This entails adherence to stringent corporate deadlines in support of planning, forecasting and business review meetings.
The position also oversees the maintenance and refresh of the expense factor model which requires cross-organization collaboration with Investments, GWAM, GAMs, and the segments.
The role requires crafting meaningful commentary to be presented to Senior Management, as well as project management and strategy.
Responsibilities
- Acquiring deep knowledge of the GA and its financials
- Produce and review financial results (quantitative)
- Analyze financial results and review analysis prepared by others (qualitative)
- Detect aberrations and provide commentary with respect to specific areas of focus
- Play a key role in the forecasting and annual planning for GA business, including investigation of trends, key metrics, preparation of presentation decks, and ad hoc requests as required
- Drive completion and improvement in execution implementation of the expense factor recovery process
- Work directly with Senior Management to ensure their understanding of the narrative around key performance indicators
- Build relationships with business partners across Investments, GWAM, GAMs, and Segment and Corporate Finance teams
- Share standard processes with team members and make recommendations for improvements in execution
- Propose and implement data management efficiencies
- Reviews work performed by financial analysts and provides feedback and guidance
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members as applicable

What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience
- MBA, CFA or CPA preferred
- Typically, 5 or more years of experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of accounting / finance and a high level of business acumen
- Diligent, well-organized, and excellent analytical skills
- Self-starter and great teammate with a high level of initiative, strong work ethic and the ability to gather, synthesize, organize, and report information
- Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a demanding and deadline-oriented environment
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, primarily PowerPoint and Excel
- Familiarity with the reporting tools SmartView (Essbase 1STOP, 1PLAN, 1KFM and 1EXP cubes), Anaplan and PowerBI would be a plus
- Advanced proficiency in own field; still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills

Salary & Benefits
The annual base salary for this role is listed below.
Primary Location
Boston, Massachusetts
Salary range is expected to be between
$86,325.00 USD - $155,385.00 USD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education / training.
Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
