Immediate need for an Instrumentation Engineer from the Oil / Gas industry within the Oakville area!
- Promotes Safety, Quality and Lessons Learnt for Projects
- Support and provide input into the development of the proposals
- In review with process prepares Instrument Datasheets for pressure, temperature, level, flow transmitters and actuated valves and is capable of selecting the right technology for the application
- Performs infrastructure design (wiring, cables and associated hardware) of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Emergency Shutdown (ESD), Burner Management (BMS), Fire and Gas (FGS), General
Purpose PLCs and Analyzer Systems
- Capable of designing Pneumatic, Hydraulic and Relay Controls for specific applications
- Performs Panel Design for the above systems; develops material specification to support procurement
activities
- Prepares scoping and commissioning documentation to support Construction and Commissioning activities
- Supports development and execution of testing procedures for control systems
- Vendor offer reviews and Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) for equipment
- Supports Functional Safety studies including Hazop, LOPA and SIL verification for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
- Work with Project Manager / Engineer to manage project priorities and changes
- Prepare technical and status reports for the project
- Identifies scope changes and proactively recommends solutions and provides estimating
Role Qualifications and Skills :
- Engineering Degree or Technologist Diploma (Instrument, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical)
- Experience in Programmable Systems in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Industry (Preferred)
- TUV FS Eng Certification and knowledge of function safety (Preferred, for design of Safety Systems and also for supporting Functional Safety Studies)
- Self-Starter and able to work with minimal supervision
- Customer Focused, ability to solve client problem and work independently at client site
- Effective communications skills to enhance productivity and builds respect
- Works well within a Team Environment
- Strong Safety behaviors to support client and Client Safety Cultures
