Our client is an automotive industry manufacturer located in Cambridge, Ontario. They are serving customers in Canada and Internationally with a strong portfolio of brands that delight consumers every day.

Summary - Our client is seeking an accomplished Logistics Manager to join our team of professionals. The successful candidate will be organized, and process-driven;

they will plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate all tasks to ensure parts, products, inventory, and personnel are working smoothly to keep workflow to our production lines running continuously, efficiently and within budget.

This role is a day shift reporting to the CEO.

Responsibilities

  • Create policies and manage logistics operations and workflow to achieve cost-effective and timely objectives.
  • Develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labor and equipment to meet production targets.
  • Overview scheduling, preparation and distribution of the materials for the manufacturing departments.
  • Direct inbound and outbound logistics operations, warehouse activities, and logistics quality management.
  • Plan and manage the establishment of the departmental budget.
  • Develop, plan, coordinate and maintain an inventory to ensure logistics schedule objectives are met.
  • Prepare production reports on a timely basis and attend daily meetings to provide updates on scheduling.
  • Lead, support and manage the infrastructure and support team within the warehouse, inspiring and holding employees accountable to deliver results.
  • Resolve transportation and logistics systems issues.
  • Analyze all aspects of logistics for cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain a logistics network that includes suppliers, storage facilities, and transportation providers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering or Supply Chain Management
  • Advanced knowledge of Manufacturing and Production is required.
  • 10 years’ logistical experience is required.
  • Process efficiency certification (i.e. Green / Black Belt / Lean Six Sigma / WCM)
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) designation an asset
  • Experienced dealing with a global supply base.
  • Knowledge of logistics principles and methods for transportation by air, rail, sea, or road
  • Knowledge and understanding of government regulations related to logistics.
  • Valid Class G Driver’s license
  • Experience with capacity planning and demand management
  • Able to effectively organize and manage competing priorities; utilize effective troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; MS Dynamics 365 an asset.
  • Previous experience working within a unionized environment is an asset.
