Position Overview :
They are seeking a MEMS Engineer to support the fabrication of next-generation quantum devices. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent PhD graduate or someone with early-stage industry experience in MEMS and nanofabrication to make an impact on quantum technology development.
This role will involve hands-on work in wafer bonding, microfluidics, and photonic integrated circuits, with a special emphasis on vapor cell fabrication.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct wafer bonding and surface treatment as part of vapor cell fabrication for quantum devices.
- Work on the design, fabrication, and integration of MEMS components, with a focus on either microfluidics or photonic integrated circuits, depending on project needs.
- Collaborate with a team of physicists, engineers, and scientists to develop and refine nanofabrication processes.
- Pattern and treat wafers to enable the creation of novel quantum system components.
- Ensure high-quality fabrication standards, troubleshooting, and optimizing processes as needed.
Qualifications :
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field, OR equivalent industry experience in MEMS and nanofabrication.
- Experience in wafer bonding techniques, ideally within a nanofabrication setting.
- Familiarity with either microfluidics or photonic integrated circuits.
- Hands-on experience in cleanroom environments, wafer processing, and surface treatment.
- Passion for quantum technology and a drive to work in a fast-paced, innovative setting.
Preferred Skills :
- Previous experience with vapor cell fabrication and associated MEMS techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to novel challenges.
- Experience with quantum devices or technologies.
Work Environment :
This role requires working on-site, 5 days a week, to engage closely with the R&D team and equipment.
