Our client, in the energy sector, is looking to hire a Market Risk Analyst in their team to provide support to the centralized pricing function for an initial 12-month contract.
This role is 4 days in office in Calgary.
Responsibilities Include :
- End-to-end delivery of commodity pricing from data provider to aggregation point, and to consuming application (ETRM).
- Accountable for working closely with Front, Middle and Back Office staff to ensure accurate commodity pricing for mark-to-market and exposure reports.
- Responsible for adding commodity price curves and associated referential data for new business activities.
- Advance the use and adoption of open source (R / Python) and data visualization tools, data management, reporting, and analytics.
- Streamline the commodity price reporting portfolio by validating required pricing across Downstream and Finance organizations and consolidate reporting into a visualized format.
- Accountable for executing the end-to-end process for Crude Oil (Egistix), including QA / QC of forward curves, and required ETRM configuration.
Co-accountability for Crude Transfer Prices in both MarketView and Egistix.
Champion Centralized Pricing's core system : MarketView, including product upgrades, testing, and leveraging its full functionality.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in a numeric field (Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Economics / Econometrics, Computer Science, Geophysics, Engineering) is required.
- Minimum 3 years of analytical experience (required) and in a role supporting Market Risk, Commodity Trading or Middle Office (preferred).
- Prior knowledge and use of Commodity Pricing Repository (MarketView) is an asset.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with operational knowledge in analytical or visualization tools such as R, Python, VBA, JavaScript, and PowerBI.
- Developing proficiency with ETRM and applications.
- Ability to work in a time-sensitive and fast-paced commercial environment.
