Job Description
Our client within the legal industry is seeking a Patent Clerk to join their team in Toronto, ON. This is a full-time permanent position operating in a hybrid work model.
The ideal candidate must have experience filing PATENT applications for both USPTO and CIPO. Perks : Hybrid work model, 3 weeks' vacation and benefits. Responsibilities
- Preparing and filing patent applications for CIPO, USPTO, WIPO, and other foreign jurisdiction
- Reviewing and analyzing documents.
- Preparing formal legal documents for filing with various PTOs, including but not limited to Inventorship Declarations, Assignments, and Powers of Attorney.
- Providing clerical support for freedom to operate, validity opinions, oppositions, and licensing.
- Managing multiple priorities and ensuring important deadlines are met.
- Reviewing correspondences and ensuring actions are taken appropriately.
- Corresponding with clients and foreign associates.
- Performing any other tasks that may be assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with patent prosecution / trademarks.
- Must have experience with filing patent applications for both USPTO and CIPO.
- Experience with Patsi or Patricia software preferred.
- Knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and statuses.
- Excellent client service skills and interpersonal skills.
- Energetic, accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment, and capable of working effectively under pressure.
