Sales Associate (Casual)
Description
The Wetaskiwin Salvation Army Thrift Store is looking for a casual salesclerk who can work 24 hours per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Sorting, pricing and displaying donations
- Operating cash register
- Process money and interact payments
- Internal customer service
- General cleaning
- Working in a team setting
- Sales associate
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS :
NOTE : For some jobs, you may be required to provide validated educational documentation.
Education / Certifications :
Completion of Public School (alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable)
Experience :
Up to three months of prior related experience including, experience with warehouse processing or goods distribution and knowledge of lifting guideline are an asset.
PREFERRED SKILLS / CAPABILITIES :
- Customer friendly / people skills
- Able to efficiently run cash register and interact machine
- Able to lift 40 pounds and wear steel toed shoes (PPE)
- Able to tolerate dust
- Able to work together with others in respectful manner
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide :
- Background check consent
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- A clean drivers abstract
- Completion of our online Prasedium Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
DAYS and HOURS of work :
Expected to work weekdays and some evenings and alternate Saturdays.
THIS IS AN ON-CALL RELIEF POSITION WITH NO REGULAR HOURS OR SHIFT
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Tuesday, Wednesday, then off the following week. Hours Monday to Wednesday and Saturday are 9 a.
m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday & Fridays will be 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
