Job Description
The Maintenance Technician is accountable to the Team Leader, Maintenance to perform duties whose functions include mechanical and electrical installation, modification, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of site equipment, utilities, systems and / or facilities in accordance with established SOPs, GMP guidelines and EH&S policies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Follow Environmental, Health and Safety rules / regulations and report any workplace injuries or accidents immediately.
- Adhere to the policies and guidelines set out in the Alphora Employee Handbook.
- Responsible for compliance with GMP guidelines and ensuring that all GMPs and SOPs are followed.
- Work harmoniously with all fellow employees.
- Travel between operating facilities.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Perform maintenance procedures according to the established SOP and PM schedule, coordinating parts and service, as required.
- Coordinate routine maintenance with Operations to ensure that, whenever possible, maintenance work scheduling does not disrupt production scheduling needs.
- Build & grow existing preventative maintenance program while maintaining a proactive approach to Plant and Equipment maintenance & repair.
- Anticipate on-going maintenance needs of equipment and surroundings, focusing on safety.
- Identify, recommend and implement improvements to line procedures, equipment, utilities, systems and / or facilities to enhance the productivity, quality or safety of products, processes and / or procedures.
- Perform operational checks on equipment and systems. Detect and investigate variance in performance of equipment, utilities, systems and / or facilities to ensure proper or enhanced functioning.
- Resolve equipment failure. Isolate issues, conduct repair or source external resource to conduct repair.
- Complete required compliance documentation, log books, timesheets, etc. when executing duties.
- Maintain an assortment of common spare parts.
- Coordinate, recommend and / or initiate purchase orders for parts, equipment or spare parts inventory according to Company's purchasing guidelines.
- Complete and maintain current training and awareness of related legislated codes, EH&S procedures, SOPs and GMP requirements.
Complete ongoing training to maintain certification and respond to technology change at the Site, as well as improving knowledge of facilities, systems and equipment.
- Ensure that maintenance or repair of Production Equipment, Site Facilities, Systems and Utilities are carried out in a timely manner.
- Respond to "off hours" emergencies, as required and provide essential services coverage during site shutdowns.
Qualifications
- Education : College 2-year diploma in engineering or related field
- Experience : Entry-level applicants are encouraged to apply
- Must be a team player
- Strong oral / written communication skills
