Job Description
As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for :
- Picking, packing, and shipping customer orders
- Receiving, counting, and storing incoming materials and returns
- Operating material handling equipment, including forklifts
- Maintaining accurate inventory records and reporting discrepancies
- Ensuring proper documentation for shipments, including dangerous goods
- Following all health and safety regulations
- Maintaining warehouse cleanliness and organization
- Assisting with customer service at the counter as needed
- Performing other tasks as assigned by the Profit Centre Manager
This role requires high attention to detail to ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; College and / or University degree an asset
- A minimum of 1 year of warehouse experience
- Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
- Able to develop comprehensive product knowledge
- Ability to learn to safely operate a forklift and any other material handling equipment
- Possess a high level of attention to detail and accurately process orders
- Able to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process orders
- Intermediate math skills
Preferred Skills :
- Previous experience with or knowledge of plumbing and building products sold at the Profit Centre
- Experience using Trend, Eclipse, Word, Excel, and Outlook
