North Central Co-op invites applications for the position of temporary People and Culture Advisor (12-month Maternity Leave Coverage) to join our People and Culture Team! This is a hybrid role, travelling across North Central Co-op's operational sites to enhance connectedness, establish professional rapport with teams and relevancy of advice.
The role is hybrid and the successful candidate must be based within the trading area (Edmonton and surrounding area) or from the North Central Co-op Administration Office.

Reporting to the People and Culture Manager, this role will be responsible for partnering with Operations to guide people programs and have a positive impact on the Team Member experience at North Central Co-op.
This role works independently, requiring critical thinking in providing subject matter expertise to their assigned portfolio, managing multiple priorities in a fast paced, dynamic work environment. Responsibilities include :
- Advising Team Leaders regarding situations specific to Employee Relations, navigating HR frameworks, policy and respective legislation;
- Guiding the talent management cycle, including - performance management (annual reviews and daily advice), succession planning, talent development, talent acquisition and onboarding, team member engagement;
- Leading and conducting investigations;
- Advising on Leave of Absence requests and administration;
- Facilitating HR-related workshops to North Central Co-op Team Leaders and Team Members;
- Partnering with the Health, Safety and Wellness team to promote a positive safety culture and team member wellness;
- Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the People and Culture Manager.
Requirements :
- Completed diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business or related field;
- 4-6 years related experience;
- CPHR designation preferred; Equivalent professional designations will be considered;
- A proven, client focused approach toward building the team member experience;
- Proven experience building relationships and collaborating to deliver solutions that matter most, recognizing the value different perspectives bring to meet shared objectives;
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License is required;
