Job Description
As a Machine Learning Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing advanced ML solutions for our federal government clients.
You'll work closely with our data scientists, software engineers, and project managers to turn data science prototypes into robust, scalable applications that drive real-world impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Study and transform data science prototypes into production-ready systems
- Design and implement machine learning systems tailored to federal government needs
- Research and apply appropriate ML algorithms and tools to solve complex problems
- Develop machine learning applications according to client requirements and federal standards
- Select and prepare appropriate datasets and data representation methods
- Conduct machine learning tests and experiments to optimize performance
- Perform statistical analysis and fine-tuning using test results
- Train and retrain systems as necessary to ensure continued accuracy and relevance
- Extend existing ML libraries and frameworks to meet specific project needs
- Stay current with the latest developments in machine learning and AI, particularly in areas relevant to government applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ML solutions into larger systems and workflows
Required Qualifications
- Active Reliability or secret clearance
- Proven experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or in a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of AWS SageMaker is essential
- Strong understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architecture
- Proficiency in writing robust code in Python, Java, and R
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (such as Keras or PyTorch) and libraries (like scikit-learn)
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
- Deep knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, and algorithms
- Experience working with government projects or in the public sector
- Familiarity with federal data security and privacy regulations
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies
