Jam Studio is looking for an exceptional Video Editor to join our production team and help craft compelling, fast-paced, story-driven content for the wildly popular SSundee YouTube channel (24+ million subscribers).
The ideal candidate will be a YouTube enthusiast with a passion for gaming and internet culture, a master of pacing and storytelling, and skilled at transforming hours of raw footage into highly engaging 20-minute videos packed with stellar VFX and SFX .
This is a fully remote, contractor position with an hourly rate of $30-40 CAD , depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Condense gameplay footage (40+ minutes) into tight, action-packed videos that keep viewers hooked from start to finish.
- Utilize VFX and SFX creatively to enhance storytelling and elevate the visual quality.
- Work closely with the team to implement scripted storylines into the edits, focusing on viewer engagement and retention.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to identify areas for improvement and refine video quality based on performance metrics.
- Manage pacing and comedic timing to match SSundee’s unique style and personality.
Requirements
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro & After Effects.
- A strong portfolio showcasing your video editing skills, particularly in fast-paced gaming or YouTube content.
- Demonstrable experience with storytelling, pacing , and audience retention strategies for YouTube.
- The ability to create and integrate VFX, SFX , and transitions seamlessly into videos.
- A solid understanding of YouTube, gaming, and internet culture, especially SSundee’s channel style.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- The ability to meet deadlines while maintaining top-quality standards.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience working with 3D or 2D environments and animations.
- Knowledge of viewer analytics and optimization techniques to improve performance.
- A passion for creating viral, shareable content in the gaming niche.
