Job Overview

Burkett Asset Management is seeking a Junior Trader to join its growing investment team. In this role, you will be a member of a collaborative team requiring exceptional analytical skills, proficiency with technology and leadership experience.

The Junior Trader will support the day‑to‑day management of client portfolios, trading, and operations. This is a role designed for individuals who are detail‑oriented, analytically sharp, and committed to delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

• Support core trade activities and account rebalancing, ensuring alignment with the firm’s investment strategy
• Interpret and execute trade instructions from Portfolio Managers and Investment Counsellors
• Order entry for global equity and fixed income securities
• Ensure all activities, trading and analytical are completed within company and regulatory policy
• Support the Portfolio Manager in addressing client needs, analyzing securities, and managing portfolio risk
• Collaborate with operations, compliance, and external advisors to ensure smooth firm operations, including regulatory filings and audits.
• Troubleshoot and resolve custodial and trading queries
• Leverage Broker‑Dealer and / or Investment Management operations expertise to support the rapid growth of Burkett Asset Management. Experience with portfolio management systems is an asset.
• You should understand financial markets, asset management and complex investment strategies. Assist with development, review, and maintenance of processes and procedures on the platforms.
• Manage and participate in ad‑hoc projects as needed.
