Trades Recruiter
We are seeking a Skilled Trades Recruiter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for identifying top talent in the industrial and construction trades, with a special focus on positions such as electricians, welders, carpenters, plumbers, Pipefitters, Skilled Labourers, Ironworkers and HVAC technicians.
Your role will be pivotal in supporting our clients’ staffing needs, often within the constraints and compliance of government-funded projects.
Responsibilities :
- Identify qualified candidates through various recruiting and sourcing tools.
- Screen and interview candidates to determine their abilities and match them with job openings.
- Follow up with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding recruiting processes.
- Manage current candidate activity in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
- Maintain relationships with both internal and external clients to ensure staffing goals are achieved.
- Execute recruiting plans to meet the hiring needs of our clients.
- Network through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, social media, and employees.
- Create job descriptions and interview questions that reflect each position's requirements.
Qualifications :
- Proven experience as a recruiter, with a deep understanding of the industrial and construction sectors.
- Direct experience with recruiting for skilled trades positions.
- Familiarity with government project staffing requirements is a significant asset.
- Strong interviewing skills and familiarity with various interview techniques and applicant screening methods.
- Deep understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Experience with ATS, recruiting software, and candidate databases.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong decision-making skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset.
