Temporary Mine Haul Truck Operator - Level 4

The Greenstone Mine commenced production in May 2024 and will be one of Canada’s largest open-pit gold mines, with annual production expected to average nearly 400,000 ounces of gold per year for an initial 14-year mine life with additional potential from a large underground deposit.

Greenstone Gold Mines L.P. is owned by Equinox Gold Corp., a Vancouver-based mining company with seven other operating mines in the United States, Mexico and Brazil.

Greenstone Mine is seeking Temporary Mine Haul Truck Operators - Level 4 to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, the Mine Haul Truck Operator is responsible for safely and productively operating a large Mine Haul Truck.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE :

• Operate the Large Mine Haul Truck in a safe and efficient way in accordance with all relevant legislation, company policies and procedures.
• Perform Field Level Risk Assessments.
• Cleaning operator cabin and refilling equipment fluids as required.
• Complete logbooks and daily reports on safety issues and production.
• Accurately track all load’s sources, and destinations.
• Use two-way-radio, horn, and light signals to communicate with other operators and ensure safety.
• Use the Mine Haul Truck according to operating practices, policies, and procedures to haul materials such as sand, aggregates, blasted rock, and snow to various locations on the mine site.
• Monitor gauges, and other indicators to ensure the mine haul truck is working properly, report discrepancies.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION

• Heavy Equipment Operator Training is required
• Valid G1, equivalent or higher driver’s license
• Prior experience in an industrial setting and / or mine site experience is an asset
• Ontario Surface Common Core Training is an asset

Candidates are required to complete a minimum of 336 working hours in the position and must successfully complete multiple competency tests based on the company’s training program to be considered for a Mine Haul Truck Level 3 position.

LOCATION

This position will be based in Geraldton, Ontario.

Greenstone Mine provides company transportation from multiple pick-up point locations.
