Internal Systems Technology Junior
GUELPH
As an integral part of the Internal Systems Technology team within the Systems Technology Group, you will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, installing and repairing all computer hardware and related peripherals.
You will maintain and support the office network, remote access and provide other support as required. Other responsibilities include maintaining internal audio / visual equipment and providing internal and external support, as well as configure, test and integrate new hardware into our current system.
New Team Member equipment set up and roll outs as well as corporate Smartphone management and roll outs will also be required.
You may be asked to assist in procurement, support and implementation services as needed for our external clients. You have an in depth knowledge of network and computer equipment as well as knowledge in the following software : VMware, Hyper V, Ubuntu Linux, Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Server Operating Systems, Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Exchange Server.
Windows based server architectures, including active directory implementations and cloud computing is considered an asset.
Previous experience in a consulting firm and or internal help desk support would be considered an asset.
Support of our internal services includes but is not limited to Network support, LAN & WAN. The position is based in our Guelph office however support is provided across all offices in Ontario, Alberta, and the United States.
Knowledge of virtualization including cloud based services such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services will be essential as we develop and implement our corporate cloud based strategies as well as offer these services to our clients.
Strong communication skills, including the necessary abilities to break down technical problems for non-technical people to understand while maintaining patience.
The ability to work under pressure and regularly meet deadlines. Strong organizational and analytical skills.
The position reports directly to our Internal Systems Technology Team Leader responsible for the Internal support team. You will be supported by a team of dynamic technology specialists who are specialized in network design, systems implementation and industrial control systems.
Reporting structure and or responsibilities may be assigned or modified as required.
