You will spearhead all stages of product development, from initial concept to final launch on Hacksmith.Store.

About You
You’re an experienced mechanical engineering designer with exceptional creativity and experience designing awesome products.
You enjoy working at a small company where you get to take on responsibility and meaningfully contribute to the team. If you build complex assemblies in your sleep and started your own tool collection when you were 5, then this job may be for you!
Responsibilities include :
- Designing, sourcing materials, fabricating functional prototypes for new products
- Working with various manufacturers all over the world to bring your designs to life.
- Communicating with the CEO to execute the vision and develop core product features
- Testing and analyzing new and existing products to ensure safety, durability and efficiency
- Developing and managing project schedules, milestones and deliverables for design and manufacturing related tasks
- Communicating with the Project Manager and manufacturers during product design and prototyping phases
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather required information for product development
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of the product development process, including design specifications, test plans, and validation results
- Other duties as required
Requirements of the role
- 10+ years of experience in product engineering
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Hands-on experience in mechanical design
- Experience with manufacturing methods and designing for mass production
- Experience with communicating with manufacturers, industry standards, regulations and certifications
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Detail oriented
- Organizational skills
- Innovative thinking
- Adaptive to change
- Ability to multitask and take initiative to problem solve independently
- Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks)
- Flexible hours in order to communicate with suppliers and manufacturers overseas (as required)
