Job Summary
The Team
The Salmon Arm Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) is an established team of 7-8 clinicians with diverse clinical and educational backgrounds.
Known for their collaborative and client-centered approach, they work closely with clinical counselors, registered social workers, and the CYMH Revelstoke team to care for the local population.
As a core member of an Integrated Child and Youth (ICY) team, this group works closely with community partners such as School District and Interior Health clinicians to ensure children and youth connect to the care they need, where and when they need it
The Role
As a Clinician, you will be responsible for safety planning, assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention in the care of children, youth, and families faced by moderate-severe mental health challenges.
As an ICY team member, you will have the opportunity to provide integrated care in an innovative way to better serve the community.
This role collaborates across ministry service areas (eg., Child protection and Child and Youth with Support Needs). The Clinician position offers the opportunity to be part of a supportive team with access to professional development, allowing you to make a meaningful impact by helping clients develop crucial coping skills and positively influence their lives.
Qualifications :
Education and Experience Requirements
- Masters in Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master's level, or equivalent.
- NOTE : If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services ( ICES ).
You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
- Minimum of one year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
- Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver's license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
Preference may be given to applicants with the following :
- Two years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
- Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.

About this Position :
This is a temporary opportunity until April 30, 2026. This position may be extended or become permanent.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
This temporary posting is not limited to the geographic area. Board and lodging and relocation expenses do not apply.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 1 day at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
