Alberta Infrastructure is responsible for delivering one quarter of the 2022-25 Capital Plan which is working to address the provincial infrastructure needs of Alberta’s population, and supporting key social programs and services and economic development.
The Ministry designs, builds, manages and maintain government-owned and operated facilities, and collaborates with other ministries to ensure that school and hospital infrastructure meet the needs of Alberta’s population.
Infrastructure provides accommodation services and manages a large portfolio of owned and leased facilities while maintaining fiscal accountability and optimizing value of Albertans.

Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Facilities Coordinator, the Caretaker Supervisor is responsible for the provision of caretaking services including effective and efficient property management services, developing and maintaining positive client relations, and managing a workforce of Caretakers at the Queen Elizabeth II Building.
This position functions within a demanding, time and quality sensitive framework.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Task analysis and delegation
- Establishing Branch standards and procedures
- Determining product consumption and equipment needs
- Communicating industry-related hazard assessments and safe work procedures
- Direct supervision of a team of 12 Caretakers
- Coordination and implementation of event set-up requirements
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
- Some high school education plus three years related experience; or equivalent as described below
- Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of : 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education
Special Requirement : Physically able to lift and handle the caretaking equipment associated with position.

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are important to be successful in this position :
- Strong communication and customer service skills, both written and verbal.
- A good understanding of industry-related safety procedures and WHMIS regulations.
- Knowledge of custodial practices, machinery, and related equipment.
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and / or services ordering and inventory control.
- Ability to utilize a computer including word processing, email, 1GX and web browser experience.
- Five years previous experience in a supervisory custodial position, supervising a minimum of five staff.
