Job Title : General Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to assist with various accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities :

• Weekly Sales Reports reconciliation to the General Ledger
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders such as Club Managers, auditors and banking contacts
• Provide guidance and training to junior accounting staff as needed
• Evaluate and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks
• Support special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as assigned by management
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate recording of transactions
• Monitor and reconcile intercompany transactions for multiple entities
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and sensitive data
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Support internal and external audits as needed
• Identify areas for process improvements and implement solutions to streamline accounting procedures
• Filing and administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications :

• Completion of a two or three year college diploma in Accounting
• 2+ years of experience in accounting or a related field
• Experience with HOST or similar hotel system is considered an asset
• General ledger and A / R subledger experience
• Proficient with reconciliations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Dynamics)
• Ability to multi-task
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong preference given to bilingual (French) applicants
