Electrical Support Technician (BEV)

We are currently recruiting for the position of Electrical Support Technician to work out of Sudbury, Ontario. The Electrical Support Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, training and troubleshooting on our client's battery electric vehicles and other equipment in shop and the field.

Responsibility & Work Activities :

• Identify the root cause of technical issues.
• Work closely with diagnostics, firmware, and hardware experts to understand complex system interactions on the entire vehicle.
• Hands-on experience with high voltage systems (AC and DC)
• Familiar with electrical / electronic testing equipment and diagnosis (scope, multi-meter, power supplies, etc.)
• Comfortable with computers and a variety of interfaces (USB, CANbus, Ethernet, RS232)

Requirements :

• Availability for occasional off-hours field service calls
• Experience working under ground.
• Minimum 5 years experience as an Electrical Technician
• Ability to read hydraulic / electrical schematics; display extensive knowledge and understanding our Kovatera Equipment
• The successful candidate must provide their own tools. Customized tools to be provided by the employer
• Code and algorithm writing and debugging skills
• CANbus experience
• Power electronics experience
• Robotics, Mechatronics, or Electro-mechanical experience
• 3-phase motor drive experience
• Hydraulic system knowledge and practical experience
• Reporting directly to the Service Manager.
