Role Description
1. The Bookkeeper reports to the Director, Financial Operations.
2. This is a remote position with a five-day work week (Monday to Friday), generally from 9 : 00 am to 5 : 00 pm.
3. The Bookkeeper must have a good grasp of financial transactions Purchases, Sales, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable as well as Bank Reconciliations, and basic Financial Reporting (e.g. Trial Balance).
4.The Bookkeeper will also be responsible for creating sales invoices.
5.The Bookkeeper will have ongoing daily interaction with the Purchasing and Sales teams within the organization. Gathering pre-determined set of documents from these groups (as determined by the Director, Financial Operations) will form the basis for accurate record-keeping, facilitating the ability to properly track and pay for product purchases, as well as track and receive payments from customers of the organization.
6. The Bookkeeper will assemble all of these documents into logical and chronological data sets in order to facilitate the financial reporting cycle.
7. After a probationary period, the Bookkeeper will also take on the task of creating electronic payments to be processed through our banks.
8. Other duties, within the framework of the position, will be assigned by the Director, Financial Operations, as required.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of financial regulations and standards
- Experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable / receivable, and financial reporting
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Previous experience in the automotive industry.
