Assistant Controller

With a team of 800 employees globally, they prioritize technology and innovation at the core of their strategy.Position Overview : The Assistant Corporate Controller is responsible for consolidating financial information and preparing interim and annual consolidated financial statements.

This role involves collaboration with finance team members on various projects, conducting accounting research for new transactions, and applying new accounting standards.

The Assistant Corporate Controller also works closely with subsidiary controllers and external auditors.Key Responsibilities : - Prepare and validate financial information from subsidiaries.

• Contribute to the monthly and quarterly preparation of IFRS consolidated financial statements.- Draft interim and annual notes for consolidated financial statements.
• Assist in the preparation of internal management reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.- Collaborate with external auditors during interim reviews and annual audits.
• Supervise the preparation of corporate tax reports by an external firm.- Manage relationships with tax authorities.- Prepare accounting memos for non-routine transactions and new accounting standards.
• Support subsidiaries in meeting consolidation requirements.- Implement and manage internal controls.- Drive continuous improvement in accounting and financial processes for best practices.
• Provide treasury support as needed.- Supervise and mentor finance staff.Ideal Profile : Education / Experience : - University degree in accounting.
• Professional Chartered Accountant designation (CPA, CA preferred).- Minimum 10 years of experience in public company external reporting.
• Experience in a multi-company, multi-currency environment.- Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.Skills and Abilities : - Strong understanding of IFRS accounting rules and processes.
• Proficient in Excel, familiarity with Cognos.- Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.- Detail-oriented and rigorous.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
