Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst

Job Description

Our valued Public Sector client is currently seeking the services of a Business Intelligence Specialist / Analyst for a HYRBID, 1+ year contract opportunity in Edmonton, Alberta.

The BI Specialist will play a crucial role in the strategic planning of how the client will share and report information by analyzing data to inform decision-making processes.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Developing and Managing BI Solutions : The BI Analyst will develop business intelligence solutions that aid the client in data analysis and reporting.
• Data Analysis : The BI Analyst will collect and examine data from various sources to detect trends and patterns that require solutions.
• Reporting : The BI Analyst will be tasked with delivering reports, dashboards, and visualizations that effectively communicate findings to the client's leaders and stakeholders.
• Collaboration : The BI Analyst will actively engage with various departments to enhance reporting needs and objectives.
• Process Improvement : The BI Analyst will assist in designing and refining business processes and propose enhancements to management and executives.
• Documentation : The BI Analyst will be responsible for creating and updating documentation, including design specifications, requirements, and user guides as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 5 years experience with cloud data
• Expert level BI tool experience with preference to Tableau
• Previous experience in report certifications
• Experience leading major transformation projects involving significant changes to business process and technology within a complex environment
• Demonstrated experience and deep knowledge in leading projects in the area of business intelligence, data access, report certifications and visualizations
• Demonstrated experience in BI applications incorporating organizational change management principles and activities into the approach to project delivery
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required
• Experience working in an post secondary institution is considered an asset

Education

• Certifications such as Tableau BI Analyst, Desktop Specialist or CBIP are an asset
