YOUR ROLE

You’re a creative visionary leading and inspiring the creative department. You will oversee creative outputs for multiple accounts and provide creative guidance to a team of Art Directors and Designers, while fostering cohesion / collaboration between Strategy, Creative and Account teams.

You will support the agency operations and growth, building our client and vendor relationships using your knowledge of our capabilities to make creative outputs stronger, smarter and more innovative.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead & Inspire

  • Foster Team Growth Create an environment where creatives can thrive. Provide leadership in mentoring skill development, while overseeing daily tasks to ensure the strategy and client objectives / deadlines are being met.
  • Present & Communicate Build and pitch presentations in a way that sells work through a compelling story and visual lens.

You will act as a trusted partner for our clients and agency, possessing the insight and authority to confidently lead them through projects, speak well to what we do / recommend and provide off the cuff advice.

Collaborate & Ideate

Empower Big Thinking Foster collaboration between internal and external departments to generate ideas through a high level of brainstorming.

Push and evolve ideas further, empowering team members to strengthen ideation / brainstorm capabilities and think in big, campaignable thoughts through tactical extensions.

Set & Inspire Vision Research and stay abreast of category, culture and consumer trends to propose innovative directions and ideas that serve 360º multi-channel touchpoints and ecosystems across overarching brand platform / identity thinking down through campaign and social roll-outs.

Differentiating brands and putting Métier at the forefront of worldbuilding and design.

Art Direction & Design

  • Oversee & Execute Lead the artistic vision of multiple projects and maintain visual consistency + quality standards across all aspects of Art Direction & Graphic Design, from conceptualization through finished output.
  • Manage creative workflow and uphold best in class approaches and softwares to producing + selling in work, and brand worldbuilding ecosystems for;

Visual Identity, Packaging Design, Campaign Development, Social & Creator Strategy, Deck Design / Layout and more.

New Business & Agency Growth

  • New Business Development Assist with identifying new and current client opportunities, doing outreach, building relationships, participating in intro calls and producing pitch materials.
  • Operations Identify and implement best practices for strong infrastructure and processes to improve company culture, workflow, and growth.

Champion company wide policies / changes. Conduct performance evaluations and handle feedback of employees.

Recruitment Source, interview, onboard and manage freelancers and new hires as needed. Oversee 90-day success plan within the probationary period, and manage the exit process for departing employees within the Creative department.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE GREAT IN THIS ROLE

  • Interest in Luxury Passion for fashion, beauty, lifestyle and editorial worlds (preferable but not mandatory to have experience in any of these spaces)
  • Creative Deep curiosity and love for creativity; keeping a finger on the pulse of the industry, social trends (focus on IG & TT), creators and culture at large.

Knack for ideation and curating creative references / mocks / moodboards. Possessing a fine eye for aesthetics with strong knowledge of art direction, design and brand building / ecosystems.

  • Challenger Strategic + creative big thinker with a high attention to detail. Challenges norms, pushes boundaries, elevates work and explores new territory with drive, ambition and enthusiasm.
  • Storytelling Ability to storytell and articulate / present ideas (written, visual, verbal); not just beautiful images that are solely aesthetically pleasing, but a full narrative that sells.

Capacity to quickly ideate creative solutions under pressure, demonstrating adeptness in thinking on your feet.

  • Mentorship Generous, collaborative and nourishing leader. Giving others space and tools to grow with an ability to motivate, influence and inspire others to achieve greatness.
  • Managerial Excellent time management and initiative skills. Ability to multitask, handle a high-volume / quick turnaround environment, think independently, collaborate, oversee team outputs, be solution oriented, meet deadlines and communicate / stay connected across departments.
  • Tools Proficient in Keynote, Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Microsoft Office Suite / G-Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc).

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising / Marketing , Graphic Design or related field.
  • 7+ years experience in Advertising / Marketing agency, Art Direction, Graphic Design or similar role.
  • 3+ years Supervisory experience.
  • Photography experience and / or experience being on set is a strong asset.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Hybrid working schedule, in office 3 days a week (Tuesdays, Wednesday, Thursday).
  • Fast-paced and agile environment
  • Ongoing use of laptop
  • Requirement to be on photoshoot sets, as needed (local and outside own city)
  • Must be based in Toronto
