Our client is seeking a Senior PMP Certified Project Manager to manage end-to-end software development projects contributing to operation process and operational safety in the mining industry.

Responsibilities :

  • Work on end-to-end software development of a system that contributes to the improvement of an operation process or the operational safety of an industrial solution.
  • Facilitate definition of project scope, goals and deliverables in support of assigned projects in collaboration with Project Sponsors and Steering Committee members.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Estimate resources and submit budget proposals, adhering to strict financial and resource management practices during the life of the project.
  • Develop full-scale project plans and resource schedules, and track project timelines / milestones, using appropriate planning tools.
  • Develop and deliver status reports and Steering Committee presentations on a timely basis.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and devise contingency plans.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project to ensure successful adoption of the business solution.
  • Build relationships with operational stakeholders at industrial facilities
  • Conduct project post mortems and create recommendations in the final Project Close report leveraging successful and unsuccessful project lessons learned.
  • Demonstration of strong leadership skills through specific project team examples.
  • Ability to get involved with the technical components of a project with an innate sense of curiosity.
  • Proven capability to manage all aspects of the project to contribute to the system’s success. Not just tick the boxes .

Must Have :

  • 7+ years as a Project Manager
  • Management of end-to-end software development projects
  • PMP (PMBOK)
  • Agile / Scrum
  • Competent and proficient understanding of a variety of technology platforms, including ERP’s such as SAP and PeopleSoft as well as current Internet technologies.

Nice to Have :

  • Hybrid in Saskatoon or Calgary.
  • Industrial and / or IT / OT experience (operation process or operational safety)
  • Expert fluency in Microsoft tools (MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Technical financial solutions and working knowledge of accounting practices through education or hands on experience.
