Job Description

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, Ontario, the incumbent will be part of the team responsible for the management of group insurance, group RRSP and disability management for all of Canada.

The incumbent may also assist with compensation related inquires and analyses’ but this is not a requirement of the role.

Responsibilities :

  • Following up on group insurance and RRSP eligibility.
  • Validating completed enrolment forms and communicate with employees if corrections are required;
  • Validating employees requests for insurance coverage changes and process them in the insurer’s systems;
  • Calculating group insurance premium upon request from employees or HR;
  • Following up on the payment of premiums for employees on sick leave, work accident, parental leave, maternity leave or other and liaise with the accounting and payroll departments;
  • Communicating and updating the various tools available to employees in connection with group insurance and group RRSPs and ensure that they are understood;
  • Settling problematic or erroneous files with the insurer;
  • Carrying out letters of confirmation from the insurer for the RAMQ or various organizations at the request of the employee.

DISABILITY MANAGEMENT

  • Following up on short and long term disability files for the divisions in Canada (employee, supervisor, HR, payroll, insurer);
  • Following up on employees on temporary assignment and coordinate with supervisors;
  • Notifying supervisor of employee's return to work and terms and conditions if applicable;
  • Acting as the contact person for the broker and insurer for the divisions in Canada;
  • Transmitting to payroll the requests for waiver of premiums for employees on work accident for more than 17 weeks.

Qualifications

  • Possesses between one (1) and three (3) years of relevant experience in benefits and disability management. Any combination of education and experience may also be considered;
  • Good knowledge of Word, Excel etc. ;
  • Thoroughness and discretion are required for this position;
  • Very strong sense of organization and priorities;
  • Must have autonomy, an analytical mind and be objective in the performance of his activities;
  • Demonstrate patience, diplomacy and good judgment;
  • Strong interest in relational interactions;
  • Ability to manage with short deadlines;
