About the opportunity :

The International Trade Coordinator provides general support for export, and import activities to the Ingredients & Export business.

The position assists with the execution of the Lactalis Canada Ingredients & Export business strategy by handling import and export logistics, customs and other documentation, delivering communicative support between customers, sales staff and internal cross-functional personnel.

The Coordinator provides direct support to International Trade Analysts and International Trade and Logistics Manager.

The attributes we are looking for :

Ensures successful trade operations by coordinating product shipment details with sales & trade analysts, plants customer services representatives, freight forwarders / carriers, warehouses, shipping lines, health and customs authorities and keeping track of inventory available, production schedules and lead times to complete customer orders and satisfy their labelling, quality and technical requirements.

Provides customer service by fielding inquiries about products, distributing appropriate information, documenting details / tracking / resolving complaints, preparing basic documentation to support import, export and regulatory requirements for global purchases and sales (direct & through Lactalis), export labeling & shipping arrangements and engaging cross-functional support to meet customers’ needs.

Assists with the maintenance and continuous improvement of detailed records for all export and import shipments including : quota allocations and usage, sales quantities, selling prices, permits, shipping and clearance documentation.

Performs administrative duties related to ingredients, export and import accounts such as communications, new SKU set-up, new account set-up, credits, returns, invoicing corrections, shipping damage, quality defects, product information, (general and batch specific).

Responsible for validating Letters of Credit from customers by collaborating with the Finance team and our bank to ensure LC conditions can be met and cross checking all documents.

What you will bring :

• University degree or College diploma in a related field preferred, and / or relevant business experience.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in international business environment, including import / export experience.
• Understanding of international trade.
• Natural curiosity and business acumen to stay abreast of International Trade Regulations
• Knowledge of the food industry and its regulations is an asset.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office and experience with BW / SAP is an asset.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to offer quality customer service to both internal and external customers, participate in cross-functional teams
• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
• Adept attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
• Ability to handle sensitive or confidential materials with complete discretion
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Resourceful for problem solving and resolution
