Compensation : $67,723-$76,431

YOUR ROLE

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to theManager, Annual Giving Programs, the Development Officer, Monthly Giving, isprimarily responsible for the planning, execution, and evaluation of therapidly growing monthly giving program.

As a key member ofthe Development team, the Officer works collaboratively and strategically withmultiple teams and external vendors to ensure the delivery of a consistent andmeaningful monthly donor experience that contributes to the growth andsustainability of the monthly giving program.

The incumbent willalso contribute to donor growth and retention efforts, reporting andforecasting initiatives, and touch point and relationship initiatives thatfoster positive long-term relationships with monthly donors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops, implements, and monitors the Monthly Giving program plan to ensure revenue targets are met.
  • Leads strategy development for monthly giving program growth and sustainability, including identifying and developing new acquisition channels and optimizing existing channels (including telefundraising, Door-to-Door, and raffle pipeline).
  • Develops and implements new tactics for expanding the Monthly Giving program such as : implement and deliver additional ask strategies for different segments of monthly donors, including preparing scripts, collateral and supplementary materials for conversions, renewals and upgrades.
  • Manages and implements stewardship activities for monthly donors, including gift acknowledgment, event invitations, accountability / reporting and stewardship.
  • Collaborates with Planned Giving team on monthly donor planned giving outreach strategy.
  • Manages the day-to-day operational aspects of the Door-to-Door vendor relationship.
  • Develops and nurtures relationships with current monthly donors and partners and coordinates customized touch points (e.

g. personalizing mail-outs and thank you notes).

  • Works collaboratively with the Annual Giving team to develop and test strategies for retaining and reactivating donors.
  • Ensures accurate monthly donation records are kept, including adding new monthly donor and recurring gift records to Virtuous and adding / updating payment information.
  • Leads monthly giving processing, ensuring that gifts process successfully, are recorded accurately, and errors are corrected, including contacting donors as needed.
  • Leads, audits, and documents the development of new monthly giving processes, including standardizing practices for processing and importing gifts, recording and tracking monthly donation streams, and trouble-shooting processing and recording errors.
  • Coordinates with Development Coordinator to provide an outstanding monthly donor experience, including responding to donor calls and emails, ensuring the accuracy of contact information and records, and following up on questions and complaints.
  • Maintains donor record database (Virtuous) by ensuring appropriate coding and reporting for donations is input and maintained, including stewardship and donor recognition program information.

Ensures the confidentiality of donor and other fundraising information.

  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports monthly giving program results using Virtuous and Excel.
  • Works closely with Donor Services team to ensure timely acknowledgement and receipting, accurate monthly donor records and gift coding, and reconciliation of monthly gift records and bank deposits.
  • Assists the Development team leads with implementing the Donor Gift Recognition and Stewardship program for monthly donors.
  • When required, organizes and participates in meetings to discuss and plan donor activities.
  • Assumes other related responsibilities, as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The successful incumbent will possess a related degree or diploma from a recognized educational institute or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

A minimum of 3 years related and progressive non-profitfundraising experience is optimal. The incumbent’s knowledge will include asolid understanding of the principles and function of donor relations, ethicalfundraising principles and best practices, donor cycle strategies, andmarketing and communication practices, complemented by a proven ability tobuild strong working relationships with colleagues and donors and stakeholdersat all levels.

Involvementwith the Association of Fundraising Professionals, CAGP or CFRE accreditationor working towards one (CFRE) are an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS

What youbring to the role :

Proficiency in English grammar, spelling and punctuation is vital, including the ability to compose simple, clear, concise correspondence and reports, and also draft more complex correspondence as required.

Additional languages are an asset.

  • Excellent telephone skills, including a warm manner and clear speech.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills; a high degree of professionalism and the ability to confidently interact and build trust with individuals and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Public presentation skills, both in person and virtually.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite computer skills, and experience with Virtuous, Raiser’s Edge or similar donor CRM system. Exposure to and familiarity with remote work and planning software such as Trello, Slack and Teams would be an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail (specifically with Excel, project timelines and database management).
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented; positive, collaborative work style with the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • A high degree of initiative, resourcefulness, creativity and thoughtfulness in the decision-making process.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, judgement skills; demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external interactions is crucial.
  • Solution focused and able to consistently make decisions that lead to positive or constructive outcomes.
