Special Education Assistant - Langley

Kleos Open Learning has had the privilege of providing education since 2004. In 2010 we created a strong focus on supporting families with students who have unique and special learning needs.

We are seeking in person, one-on-one support for a Grade 5 student on the Autism Spectrum.This position would be approximately 10-15 hours per week, within the school week and calendar.

Preference will be given to those with experience / training in working with students with ASD.You would be required to travel to the student's home to implement a program provided from a distance by a BC certified teacher.

Our support staff must be professional, caring, flexible, work well with little supervision, participate in a team-based approach, and be comfortable using technology.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to : Supporting with the academic program Using the general timetable and direction from the teacher, support the student to complete assigned work.

Acquire and organize instructional materials as needed Facilitate learning activities based on outcomes outlined in the IEP, as directed by the Kleos teacher Tracking progress and reporting to the teacher on a weekly basis Attend IEP meetings Communicate with families and teachers frequently You must complete a criminal record check.

Per hour pay ranges depending on experience and training.This is an in-person position, located in Langley, BC.
