Reporting to the Vice President, Compensation, the Senior Compensation Analyst will be responsible for development and implementation of comprehensive analytical solutions / tools, and for both standardized and bespoke reports from multiple data sources providing HR and other Reward team members with the intelligence and data to make decisions related to pay governance and strategy.
As a senior member of the Design & Analytics team, the Senior Compensation Analyst will work with a good degree of autonomy on a diverse range of problems and data sources in support of the Consultants and Vice President.
The job holder will also work with colleagues and team leadership to identify and co-ordinate opportunities to enhance the overall efficiency of the Total Reward team, including automation, standardization of enterprise-wide processes and contributing to the use of AI in the team’s work.
The role will be responsible for coordinating and undertaking analysis of market data on a global basis, to support the development and implementation of pay ranges to ensure competitiveness and, where necessary, statutory compliance of Thomson Reuters Global Pay programs.
While developing pay ranges with the Design & Analytics team, the job holder will have the responsibility for job matching, survey input, managing survey vendor relationships and the sourcing and analysis of appropriate market data in accordance with Thomson Reuters global compensation philosophy.
The job holder will partner with other members of the Compensation team in execution of the Annual Compensation Cycle for the Company.
The Senior Compensation Analyst will work closely with and provide input and expertise to other Compensation team members providing analytical and operational support.
The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Vice President, Compensation, relying on general direction and precedent to perform the job and taking a role in identifying and implementing opportunities to improve the team’s efficiency and delivery.
The role holder will liaise closely with and provide support to the team’s Reward Consultants.
The Senior Compensation Analyst will be a professional with sound compensation analytical experience and a solid understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures.
The incumbent should be highly proficient in quantitative analysis and interpretation of data to make logical conclusions.
Experience with process automation and application of new technologies is an advantage.
About the Role
In this role as Senior Compensation Analyst, you will :
- Act as primary subject matter expert for the Compensation Design and Analytics team, guiding colleagues and coordinating the team’s annual cycle of work, leading in managing smaller projects or reviews
- Manage the integrity of compensation data, assist with system configuration and upgrades and maintain and update plan documents as necessary.
- Structure, analyze and interpret large amounts of data using statistical methods
- Respond to inquiries and coordinate the dissemination of analysis and insights
- Develop analytical models and reports, using Excel, Power BI or other appropriate tools, to deliver insightful, consistent data analyses for faster decision making
- Use HRIS and Compensation Administration systems to run queries and research issues
- Specify and complete audits for data validity / governance purposes
- Provide data and insights in support of the annual salary planning process
- Act as a key contributor to the development of country pay structures
- Co-ordinate and take part in salary survey participation and summarizing market data for broader review within the Rewards Function
- Assist with Sarbanes Oxley compliance and testing
- Administer vendor accounts and invoices.
- Provide and identify opportunities for other miscellaneous pay research and analyses, as appropriate
About You
You're a fit for the role of Senior Compensation Analyst if you :
- Have proven strong analytical and quantitative data skills. Advanced analytical execution skills in Excel and Access would be ideal.
- Have sound experience in Compensation and associated Data Analytics, with good knowledge of major market data providers.
- Are proficient with HR database queries (e.g. Workday) and have knowledge of Human Resources functions or disciplines.
- Are detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and ability to approach assignments strategically and manage to completion
- Have excellent organizational skills with ability to co-ordinate your own and the team’s work on many tasks concurrently
- Are an effective communicator within the Compensation team and when working with the broader People team.
- Have strong knowledge of Microsoft business applications like Excel, Power Point, Word etc.
- Would typically have a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years relevant Compensation experience
