Plasman Windsor 3 Manufacturing , Sprucewood Drive, Windsor ON is immediately seeking a new member to join our team as :

Industrial Engineer

The Industrial Engineer is responsible for coordination of activities associated with lean manufacturing to achieve the most effective and efficient way to manufacture products at high quality and reliable levels in a consistent basis.

The Industrial Engineer is also to assist Program Engineering in activities relating to new program launches and engineering changes, as required at Plasman.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :

• Drives continuous improvement activities through the Kaizen philosophy.
• Drive continuous improvement to support waste reduction, IPPM, scrap, downtime and other lean manufacturing
• Identify process improvements, including cost benefit analysis and ROI
• Support the analysis of downtime data and provide opportunities for increased productivity through improvement activities.
• Support Production improvements by working with outside suppliers and Maintenance Dept.
• Develop labour calculations and capacity planning models to allow efficient managing of resources and production bottlenecks.
• Perform elemental time studies of process.
• Draft & design layout of equipment, materials and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency utilizing AutoCAD.
• Provide regular and timely report to senior management on program status and critical issues.
• Must understand the mechanics of plant equipment for processing, testing and inspecting product components / assembly as well as understand quality / manufacturing / engineering methods and practices.
• Develop quote models for new programs including labour and equipment cost.
• Validate new programs packaging design proposal and track seamless implementation.
• Design innovative packaging concepts to eliminate potential part damage during internal transportation and reduce capital costs and expenses.
• Implement action plans necessary to meet the goals and objectives of department.
• Promote an atmosphere of team work at all times
• Ensure that a clean and safe work environment is always maintained
• Complete any other duties as assigned
• Assist in any way to any employee, necessary to promote a successful operation emphasizing customer satisfaction
• Ensure that all employees receive proper training and understand all job tasks

MINIMUM EDUCATION / OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS :

• Must have the ability to operate a CAD system (preferably CADKEY or Keycreator)
• Certified Engineering Technologist professional designation or higher (preferred but not required for FPP)

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

Must have 4-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering environment, automation.

• Additional training requirements may be identified based on plant-specific location (municipality / province / state / country) and / or operational needs that are commensurate with the duties, expectations and responsibilities of the role within the specific plant.
• Ability to perform well in high pressure situations.
• Meets expectation rating (rating score of 2 or 3) in all applicable Competencies as defined in the Performance Management Process
• Capable of independent travel
• Access to reliable transportation

Must be capable of performing the essential duties which include maximum safe lifts to the 75th percentile of the employee as determined by acceptable standards
