Sr. Mainframe Developer to work with Cobol to develop and implement solutions for a large insurance client -
Duration : 1 year (possibility of extension)
Location : Remote
Must haves :
- 5+ years of experience as Mainframe Developer working with full application development life cycle and systems integration
- Experience using COBOL or PLI, and SAS development languages
- Excellent knowledge of the IBM OS / mainframe environment
- Experience with TSO / ISPF, DB2, IMS, JCL and other mainframe utilities
- Understanding of MQ Series and other middleware technologies
- Insurance and Wealth Investments Financial Service industries experience
Nice to haves :
- Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, and Jenkins
- Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
Job Responsibilities :
- The candidate will be expected to manage / coordinate offshore resources and be able to pivot / adjust dev resourcing once the solution road map is well established
- Deliver the analysis, design, development, and implementation of solutions
- Utilize their technical knowledge to lead technical discussions with stakeholders and external technical partners in a manner that ensures understanding of risks, options, and overall solutions
- Continuously strives to improve the client experience, our team, and our processes
- Keep current with trends in emerging technologies and how they could be applied
Note : Occasional weekend or evening may be required.
