Union City VeterinaryMedical Center & Emergency Clinic a 24hour emergency smallanimal hospital is seeking a fulltime veterinary technician.

Hoursare 9am to 8pm 4 days per week every otherweekend.

Experience required : A minimum of two(2) years as a veterinary technician working for a reputable andestablished animal hospital.

The selectedcandidate will support and assist our veterinarian(s) with allservices provided by the hospital including surgery medicine anddentistry.

Applicants should be experienced in phlebotomy catheterplacement obtaining radiographs using inhouse laboratory equipmentmonitoring and inducing anesthesia assisting surgery holding andsecuring animals and in all aspects of nursingcare.

The candidate will also supportnontechnical tasks including interacting with clients and patientsclinic cleanliness. He or she will have the flexibility to handlemultiple roles including receptionist when needed.

He or she willbe required to handle phone calls scheduling and product sales.Ideal qualities include a friendly and sympathetic manner and theability to accurately gather data from clients and communicaterecommendations and other information.

We arelooking for a candidate who has experience but is also willing tolearn grow and take on new responsibilities as we grow as acompany.

Education required : Completion of a highschool degree or further education. Certificate of completion froma NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant program or the equivalentcombination of education training and experience that provides therequired knowledge skills and abilities.

An Associatesdegree / diploma or 4year university bachelors degree is a plus butnot required.

Personality Traits : Well developedcommunication skills positive outlook and ability to work easilywith others interested in learning new skills able to handleemergency situations hardworking dedication to the profession and agenuine love and care for animals and theirwellbeing.

Physical Demands : Ability tolift / carry an object weighing up to 50 pounds. Able to workenergetically for the entire assigned shift sometimes exceeding 10hours per day.

Salary : Commensurate withexperience.
